Let's talk credits!

Introduction
In this thread, I am going to be going over ways for new or returning players to make credits in the world of SWTOR and give them tips on how to keep them.

Methods of Making Credits
-GTN, this is the easiest way to make millions of credits but you have to keep in mind that the GTN is like the stock market--prices go up, and they go down. So when you buy something in the hopes of selling it for a profit, be sure that you are willing to risk losing credits. Think about what people would want to buy, just because something is worth a lot, doesn't mean people will buy it. Look at something and think to yourself "If I had the credits, would I buy this for myself? Would others want to buy it? Does it look good? Is it useful?". If all the answers are no, then don't buy it. You could casually put things on the GTN but if you really want to make credits, you need to dedicate more time to it.
Do not be dissuaded if you start losing credits, there will be good and bad days. The more time and credits you put into the GTN, the more you will get out of it.
Try to sell items for the lowest price, check to see who currently has the lowest price on that item by pressing SHIFT + CLICK on the item and clicking search, then click unit price and it will show the lowest to highest prices. You will want to charge less per unit than the lowest person at that time. Also keep in mind that as you make more money on the GTN, you will be able to buy more expensive items to where you could potentially make millions per transaction.

-Heroics, this is a safer way to earn credits than the GTN, seeing how there are no risks involved. You'll want to accept all heroics and the weekly missions that could be associated with them, then you are going to use the heroic transports (quest item) to get to each one. Then you are going to complete it along with the bonus objective(s). Keep in mind that enemies in this area drop more credits than normal enemies, so that will get you thousands of credits alone. The bonus objective and mission alone are worth 10-20k each. Overall, you will not make as much money this way compared to the GTN but this technique is definitely safer.

-PVP (Starfighter included), If you accept the daily and weekly missions for PVP, it is an easy way to rack up credits. On completion of a match, you will receive the payment for that match, the amount depends on how well you did in the match and if your team won or not. When you complete two games you will also complete your daily mission, which is about 10k. And once you complete 7 matches (Victories count as 2), you will complete your weekly mission which is another 10k. While it isn't a lot, it adds up over time.

-Gathering Skills (Slicing, bioanalysis, scavenging), due to the new expansions with command crates and people wanting to build their own weapons and gear, they will need supplies, this is where you come in. You will go to your fleet or the nearest crew skill trainer and train those skills. You will then go to a planet (higher ranking planets have more nodes and better supplies that come from them. You will gather supplies and resources from each node around the map and once you have quite a few, you will sell them on the GTN, this is an easy way to rack up credits. As you gather resources, your skill will improve meaning that you will get more of an item from each node, meaning, that you'll get more profit.

-Creativity, you could hold a dueling ring outside a city and charge people to fight in it, allow people to bet, and hand out earnings. You could put yourself up for hire and allow lower level players to pay you to help them quest. The sky is the limit on that regard.

How to keep your credits
The answer is simple: be careful. The biggest risk involved is the GTN, even if you aren't selling on it, you don't wants to buy something extremely expensive that you don't need and can't afford. If you have the credits then go ahead, but if you want to keep your credits, only have a slight bit of vanity in your life ;).
